As spring is fully upon us and the weather has warmed up nicely, the number of thunderstorms has increased too. Thunderstorms are not typically on the radar of pet owners except for the thought that it is time to bring Fido inside when thunderstorms approach. It is important, however, to understand the benefits of our system surge protector for your electric fence that can protect your pet in rare cases of a catastrophic power surge.
The standard T-4 Outdoor Transmitter has pre-built-in safety features to protect your pooch. The T-4 transmitter can dissipate the average power surge or lightning hit, at which point the yellow fault light will come on and an audible alarm will sound from within the T-4 transmitter to alert you to the surge.
While this protection is built into every one of our T-4 Outdoor Transmitters, you should consider a surge protector to further ensure your pet’s safety in the event of a catastrophic power surge.
A surge protector adds additional safeguards to your electric fence to give you peace of mind in the event of an unexpected power surge or direct lightning hit. First and foremost, a surge protector has a larger capacity to dissipate surges than the built-in surge protection within the T-4 Outdoor Transmitter. It reduces the risk of system failure overall, making sure that your pet will continue to be contained no matter the situation.
Our surge protector has better loop connectors, making it easier for you to attach the loop wires to the unit compared to traditional surge protectors. A power indicator light shows when the power is on, and our space saving design is low profile.
We are committed to the protection of your pet, and as such, we are happy to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about our electric fences or surge protectors.
